Thermal Engineer

About the Role
We are representing a global leader in advanced electronics manufacturing and engineering solutions who is looking for a talented Thermal Engineer to join their regional New Product Introduction (NPI) center in Chonburi.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex customer thermal specifications and high-volume production, designing cutting-edge cooling architectures for high-density hardware platforms that power AI, cloud computing, and enterprise infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Thermal Modeling & Simulation: Perform numerical simulations and airflow analysis for high-density compute and networking systems using FloTHERM, FloTHERM XT, or ANSYS Icepak.
- Cooling Solution Design: Specify and optimize advanced thermal components (heat sinks, vapor chambers, heat pipes, fans, and TIMs) to manage extreme power densities.
- CAD & DFM Integration: Prepare and simplify 3D CAD models (Creo, SolidWorks) for CFD analysis, collaborating with mechanical teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Physical Validation & Testing: Plan and execute hands-on thermal characterization in lab environments using wind tunnels, thermal chambers, thermocouples, and IR thermography.
- Cross-Functional & Client Collaboration: Lead thermal NPI tollgate reviews, support root-cause failure analyses (RCCA), and serve as the technical thermal contact for international customer design reviews.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Physics with a solid background in thermodynamics and heat transfer.
- Experience: 4 to 8+ years of dedicated thermal engineering experience within electronics hardware, manufacturing, or complex enterprise systems.
- CFD Expertise: Hands-on proficiency with electronics cooling simulation tools such as FloTHERM, FloTHERM XT, or ANSYS Icepak.
- CAD & Lab Testing: Practical skills with 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, or NX) and experience conducting bench-level thermal testing and data acquisition.
- Communication & Language: Professional English proficiency (verbal and written) for regular engagement with global technical teams and clients.
- Location: Ability to work on-site at the engineering facility in Chonburi.
