PC/Software Automation Engineer
About the Role
Our client is the regional hub of a market-leading global engineering group specializing in raw ingredient and bulk material handling automation. Operating at the intersection of mechanical engineering and process IT automation, they deliver integrated, customized solutions for the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and plastics manufacturing sectors across Southeast Asia and Australasia.
We are seeking a PC/Software Automation Engineer to join their regional team in Bangkok. In this hands-on technical role, you will bridge client requirement clarification, functional software specifications, PLC/PC automation coding, factory acceptance testing, and site commissioning across modern processing facilities in Thailand and the broader region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, and configure Industrial PC, PLC, SCADA, and HMI software for material handling, dosing, and pneumatic conveying systems.
- Draft Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Software Design Specifications (SDS) aligned with client requirements and global standards.
- Configure real-time visualization, recipe management, and process control interfaces for ingredient automation.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), simulations, and hands-on site commissioning at customer processing facilities.
- Coordinate directly with regional clients to clarify technical parameters and system requirements.
- Perform systematic fault diagnosis, code debugging, and defect rectification during integration and commissioning.
- Integrate software deliverables, technical BOMs, and project workflows into the company's SAP environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Computer, Instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering.
- Proven programming experience with Industrial PCs, PLCs (Siemens S7 / TIA Portal or equivalent), and SCADA/HMI platforms.
- Demonstrated capability authoring and working with FDS and SDS documentation.
- Hands-on experience in control system testing, simulation, FAT protocols, and site commissioning.
- Strong understanding of industrial process control logic and automated material handling or dosing processes.
- Professional fluency in both English and Thai (spoken and written).
- Willingness to travel regionally within Thailand and Southeast Asia for site commissioning.
Nice to Have
- Background in powder/liquid handling, pneumatic conveying, loss-in-weight dosing, or hygienic design standards (food/pharma).
- Experience working within an SAP workflow or integrated enterprise project management environment.
