About the Role
Our client is a leading global manufacturer in the high-precision electronic and micro-mechanical components industry. As a key subsidiary of a world-renowned luxury and precision manufacturing group, they operate state-of-the-art production facilities in Samut Prakan, Thailand. They serve as a vital manufacturing hub, bridging European engineering heritage with advanced local manufacturing capabilities.
We are seeking a Senior NPI & SAP - Mechanical Parts Engineer to play a pivotal role in bridging global designs from the international headquarters to the production floor in Samut Prakan. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) process for high-precision mechanical parts, ensure seamless process transfers, and manage critical master data within SAP ERP (including BOMs and routings). You will collaborate closely with international engineering teams, local production, and external suppliers to ensure that new mechanical components meet rigorous standards of precision, quality, and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) and process transfers of high-precision mechanical parts from global headquarters to the local production lines.
- Create, configure, and maintain critical master data in SAP ERP, including Bill of Materials (BOM), routings, and part classifications, ensuring seamless alignment with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Review and interpret complex mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and standards to assess manufacturing feasibility and define optimal production configurations.
- Collaborate on the design and development of specialized tooling, fixtures, and high-precision manufacturing processes (such as CNC lathing or micro-assembly) to fit existing production lines.
- Lead cross-functional teams to analyze production data, conduct Design of Experiments (DOE), and implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to optimize cycle times, reduce downtime, and maximize yield.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with global R&D teams, machine makers, and external suppliers to define equipment requirements and manage launch timelines.
- Lead line buy-off and release procedures after shutdowns or process modifications, establishing troubleshooting guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the shop floor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on New Product Introduction (NPI) and process development for mechanical or micro-mechanical parts.
- Proven experience in SAP ERP, specifically in creating and maintaining master data, BOMs, and routings.
