R&D Manager – Powder and Seasoning

About the Role
Our client, a leading international B2B food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced R&D Manager – Powder and Seasoning to drive dry blending and seasoning innovation across the Asia-Pacific region.
Serving as the technical bridge between culinary concept development and commercial-scale manufacturing, you will lead high-impact customer co-creation projects, mentor a dedicated team of food technologists, and deliver cutting-edge seasoning solutions for top-tier foodservice, retail, and food processing brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Formulation: Lead bench-to-scale development for customized dry seasonings, coatings, glazes, and functional powder blends, emphasizing clean-label and sodium-reduction initiatives.
- Client Co-Creation: Collaborate directly with key QSR, retail, and food processing partners in technical workshops to translate market trends into commercially viable products.
- Scale-Up & Plant Trials: Oversee pilot testing and plant-level scale-ups, defining critical process parameters for dry blending, bulk density, particle sizing, and flowability.
- Validation & Optimization: Manage sensory evaluations, shelf-life testing (caking, moisture sorption, stability), and recipe optimization for cost and performance.
- Project & Team Leadership: Guide projects through the Stage-Gate process to ensure on-time delivery while mentoring junior technical talent and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards (Codex, Halal, FDA).
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: 7–10+ years of progressive R&D experience in food ingredients or food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in dry seasoning formulation, carrier systems, anticaking technologies, and industrial dry-blending processes.
- Quality & Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of food physical chemistry (water activity, hygroscopicity), alongside familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and regional food regulations.
- Languages: Full professional fluency in Thai and working proficiency in English.
