QA/QC Assistant Manager – Advanced Composites Manufacturing
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive QA/QC Assistant Manager on behalf of our client, a leading international manufacturer of high-performance composite protective equipment based in Rayong, Thailand.
Serving as a key link between technical Quality Management Systems (QMS) and daily shop-floor operations, you will lead inspection teams across advanced composite moulding, robotic preparation, and automated finishing lines to guarantee the highest safety and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Plant-Wide Inspection: Oversee daily IQC, IPQC, and OQA operations, supervising team leaders and inspectors across composite moulding, sanding, paint/coating, and assembly lines.
- Uphold QMS & International Standards: Maintain and audit the site's ISO 9001:2015 system, coordinating physical testing (impact, retention, penetration) to meet stringent global safety regulations (e.g., ECE, DOT).
- Manage Composite & Finishing Quality: Enforce strict acceptance criteria for composite structural integrity (void prevention, delamination, resin saturation) and surface aesthetics (adhesion, alignment, finish quality).
- Drive Root Cause Analysis & CAPA: Spearhead structured problem-solving initiatives (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) to resolve production deviations, reduce scrap, and address customer feedback.
- Process Control & People Development: Implement SPC, Gauge R&R, and measurement system analyses while coaching and mentoring quality personnel to foster a zero-defect mindset.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials/Polymer, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of QA/QC experience in high-volume manufacturing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Manager capacity.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on background with composite materials (carbon fibre, fibreglass, compression moulding) and/or precision surface coating lines, preferably within automotive, aerospace, or safety-critical manufacturing.
- Quality Toolset: Strong proficiency in ISO 9001:2015, internal auditing, 8D, CAPA, FMEA, Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Languages & Location: Professional fluency in both Thai and English (written and spoken); based in or able to commute to Rayong.
