Senior Composite Process Engineer
Location: Rayong, Thailand
Salary: 55,000 – 60,000 THB / month
About the Role
Our client, an established international manufacturer of high-performance products, is seeking an experienced Senior Composite Process Engineer to join their team in Rayong. In this pivotal technical role, you will take ownership of end-to-end composite transformation processes—from raw material preparation through layup, curing, and demolding—driving continuous quality improvement, cycle efficiency, and seamless New Product Introduction (NPI).
Key Responsibilities
- Process Optimization: Define and refine technical parameters across composite processes, including fiber cutting, layup, resin infusion, and hot-press/vacuum molding.
- NPI & Tooling: Partner with R&D and tooling teams to validate prototype molds, conduct pilot runs, and scale new models into volume production.
- Defect Reduction & RCA: Lead root-cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) to eliminate composite flaws such as delamination, voids, and dry spots.
- Quality & SPC: Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC), monitor process capability ($C_p / C_{pk}$), and maintain control plans in compliance with ISO and international standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Author technical SOPs and leverage Lean principles (Kaizen, 5S, SMED) to optimize line balancing and material flow.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Polymer/Composite Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on process engineering experience working with advanced composites (carbon fiber, fiberglass, thermoset/epoxy resins).
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of composite manufacturing methods (prepreg compression molding, vacuum-assisted RTM, wet layup) and quality tools (PFMEA, SPC, 8D).
- NPI Track Record: Proven experience leading mold trials, industrialization handovers, and cycle-time optimization.
- Communication & Location: Good technical proficiency in both English and Thai; able to work on-site in Rayong.
