Optic Engineer
About the Role
Our client, a global technology and advanced manufacturing leader, is seeking a talented Optic Engineer to join their advanced facility in Chonburi.
In this role, you will work at the cutting edge of high-speed communications hardware, driving new product introduction (NPI) and scaling precision optical transceivers from design handoff to mass production within world-class cleanrooms and advanced labs.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive NPI & Industrialisation: Lead optical process onboarding for high-speed transceivers, co-packaged optics (CPO), and electro-optical assemblies from early proto-builds through full-scale manufacturing.
- Advance Optical Packaging: Define, validate, and optimize high-precision active and passive alignment, fiber coupling, die attach, and encapsulation processes.
- Enhance DFM & Efficiency: Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews on optical engines, micro-optics, and connector interfaces to maximize assembly efficiency and reduce cycle times.
- Lead Test & Yield Optimisation: Set up and qualify optical test stations (evaluating insertion loss, spectral analysis, eye diagrams, BER) using SPC and DOE methodologies to drive yield improvements.
- Root-Cause Analysis: Collaborate with failure analysis teams to troubleshoot optical misalignments and defects, driving effective 8D corrective actions.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in optical transceiver manufacturing, photonics packaging, or precision electro-optical hardware assembly.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in optical transceivers (e.g., SFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP), optical alignment, fiber handling, and cleanroom manufacturing processes.
- Testing & Quality: Proficiency with optical test equipment (optical spectrum analysers, power meters, oscilloscopes) and structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, SPC, DOE).
- Languages: Professional bilingual fluency in Thai and English for effective cross-border and local technical communication.
What We Offer
