Development Director – Electronics Manufacturing

About the Role
Our client, a leading global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, is seeking an accomplished Development Director to head technical and operational engineering at their advanced manufacturing facility in Chonburi.
In this senior leadership role, you will bridge strategic technical vision with high-impact commercial execution. You will oversee multi-disciplinary engineering departments across the complete product lifecycle—from customer RFP/RFQ proposals and design reviews through high-volume New Product Introduction (NPI)—while maintaining site-level operational and P&L oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering & Test Leadership: Direct site-wide process, engineering, and test development functions (including SMT, ICT/FCT, and box-build integration) to optimize operational efficiency.
- Commercial Strategy & Solutioning: Partner directly with Tier-1 OEM accounts during RFQ/RFP cycles, translating customer specifications into winning, high-margin technical architectures.
- P&L & Budget Governance: Oversee operational engineering budgets, resource planning, and CapEx to consistently hit profitability, ROI, and yield targets.
- Product Lifecycle & NPI: Steer end-to-end NPI delivery, ensuring seamless Design for Manufacturing/Assembly/Test (DFX) execution and rapid factory ramps.
- Customer & Regulatory Governance: Act as the primary site escalation authority for executive technical negotiations while ensuring compliance with international quality standards (including ISO 13485 and FDA regulations).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline).
- 12+ years of progressive engineering leadership within an EMS or advanced hardware contract manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record leading commercial bids, costing models, and RFP/RFQ proposals for global Tier-1 clients.
- Deep operational expertise across SMT, test engineering (ICT/FCT), systems integration, and formal NPI frameworks.
- Strong financial acumen with direct experience managing departmental P&L, operational expenditure, and CapEx.
- Exceptional executive communication, negotiation, and English presentation skills.
What We Offer
- Base Salary: 300,000 – 350,000 THB per month
