Process Engineering Director

About the Role
Our client, a leading global electronics manufacturing services (EMS/ODM) provider, is seeking a visionary Process Engineering Director to take full technical stewardship of advanced manufacturing processes, equipment tooling, and new product introduction (NPI).
In this executive leadership role, you will lead a large, multi-disciplinary engineering organization responsible for building high-reliability hardware platforms powering modern AI, hyperscale data centers, and advanced cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Establish and execute multi-year technical roadmaps, departmental KPIs, and governance across PCBA, tooling, automation, and NPI disciplines.
- NPI & Lifecycle Execution: Direct cross-functional teams through the entire lifecycle—from early prototyping and pilot runs to high-volume ramp and yield stabilization.
- CapEx & Smart Factory Stewardship: Identify, evaluate, and qualify next-generation manufacturing technology, equipment, and automation solutions with rigorous ROI modeling.
- DFX Customer Co-Design: Lead Design for Excellence (DFM, DFA, DFR) engagements directly with tier-one global technology partners to optimize product manufacturability.
- Process Mastery & Yield Enhancement: Oversee high-density SMT/PCBA, complex system integration (including advanced liquid cooling architectures), and failure analysis labs utilizing SPC, DOE, and PFMEA frameworks.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science.
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership within high-volume electronics manufacturing (EMS/ODM) or complex hardware environments.
- People Leadership: Demonstrated success directing large engineering organizations (50+ engineers, managers, and technical specialists).
- Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of high-density SMT, reflow profiling, press-fit technology, AOI/AXI, and root-cause failure analysis.
- Business Acumen: Solid background in CapEx planning, equipment ROI analysis, and executive-level stakeholder engagement.
- Communication: Professional fluency in English.
