NPI Quality Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented NPI Quality Engineer on behalf of an established international manufacturer specializing in premium merchandising, display solutions, and high-end packaging.
Based at an advanced manufacturing facility in Chonburi, you will serve as the critical link between creative design, prototyping, and mass production. In this role, you will ensure all new product introductions meet stringent functional requirements, aesthetic benchmarks, and sustainable manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- NPI Quality Planning: Lead end-to-end APQP and PPAP deliverables to guarantee a seamless transition from prototyping to series production.
- Risk Mitigation: Facilitate DFMEA and PFMEA sessions across cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical risks prior to pilot runs.
- Aesthetic Standards: Establish visual boundary samples and cosmetic acceptance criteria across multi-material assemblies (plastics, metals, wood, and luxury finishes).
- Metrology & Inspection: Interpret GD&T blueprints, establish critical-to-quality (CTQ) specifications, and develop measurement protocols, fixtures, and Gage R&R/MSA studies.
- Root Cause Analysis: Drive 8D problem-solving initiatives for pre-production defects, evaluate SPC metrics (Cp/Cpk), and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3–6 years of hands-on quality engineering experience focused on NPI within precision manufacturing, consumer products, or multi-material fabrication.
- Quality Toolset: Proven expertise in APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, SPC, and structured root-cause methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
- Technical Skills: Strong GD&T interpretation, metrology experience, and an exceptional eye for premium surface finishes and cosmetic quality.
- Communication: Good English communication skills (verbal and written) and a working knowledge of ISO 9001 systems.
