About the Role
Our client is a global leader in ingredient automation and turnkey process engineering, delivering customized powder handling and bulk material systems across the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and plastics industries. They are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join their regional team in Thailand on a full-time, permanent basis.
In this vital role, you will bridge the gap between engineering requirements and global supply chain execution. You will manage end-to-end direct and indirect procurement for specialized plant engineering projects—interpreting technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs), negotiating with local and international vendors, managing ERP workflows, and overseeing cross-border logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Turnkey Sourcing & Procurement: Execute direct procurement for specialized mechanical and electrical components, as well as indirect materials, to support process engineering project timelines.
- Technical BOM & Spec Verification: Analyze engineering drawings, technical specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to accurately source specialized components (e.g., valves, sieves, sensors, pneumatic conveying parts).
- Vendor Negotiation & Contracting: Source, evaluate, and negotiate competitive pricing, delivery schedules, warranty terms, and commercial contracts with suppliers.
- PO Management: Issue and track Purchase Orders within enterprise ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Microsoft Dynamics), maintaining data integrity from requisition to delivery.
- Import/Export & Customs Coordination: Collaborate with freight forwarders, logistics partners, and customs authorities to manage international shipments and tariff clearances.
- Supplier Audit & Quality Assurance: Evaluate vendor performance to ensure all materials strictly meet high quality standards and hygienic design requirements for regulated sectors.
- Cost Analysis & Benchmarking: Conduct continuous market analysis to drive cost optimization without compromising process quality or safety.
- Inventory Control Alignment: Work alongside project managers, site engineers, and warehouse teams to align procurement schedules and prevent project delays.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical), Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience within machinery manufacturing, plant engineering, industrial automation, or capital equipment.
